Foundation was established in 2020 by its Founder and Executive Director, Mr.
Stephen Nana Afful, and is duly registered and certified under the laws of
Ghana with recognition from various Ministries, Departments, Ghana Aids
Commission and Legal Aid Commission.

outstanding track record of successful activities, through its dedicated staff
and volunteers, the Foundation has strategically positioned itself as one of
the leading CSOs in Ghana in the area of Law and Policy Reforms, Access to
Justice and Human Rights Advocacy,
In summary,
BEST NACEM Foundation's consistent areas of work as highlighted above addresses
the problem of Prison Congestion, delay of trials in court, abuse of hard drugs
among student and Law and Policy Reforms including Alternatives to
Incarceration and modern trends of drug policy reforms; Promotion of
fundamental Human Rights, especially the poor marginalized, Women and the
Youth.
In 2023,
BEST NACEM Foundation was recognized in the Eastern Region by the Attorney
General Department, and traditional leaders like Nana Asare Kumi III, Osaberima
Attah Dwamena II, for its remarkable role in reducing remand/pre-trial in
prison and organizing training for prison and police officers, teachers and
nurses.

Stephen Nana Afful
Information- RTI Ghana, an author and publisher with two books as well as other
brochures and articles to his credit.
Stephen is has championed the redress of several human
rights abuse cases through the Law Courts, the Legal Aid Commission and the
media. He facilitates/coordinates the KA MA MI initiative ‘which is been
partnered by the Legal Aid Commission’ for remand prisoners aimed at
decongesting the prisons.
Stephen focuses on
advocacy, litigation, public education, and youth development. Stephen is a
human rights advocate, Stephen has actively aided in the preparation of Civil
Society Organizations (CSO), Shadow-Reports to UN Committees and Councils while
making oral submissions to the UN Human Rights Committee in Koforidua which was
organized by the POS foundation. Stephen is tagged by many as very passionate,
young yet masterful with respect to his 5 years working experience on the Civil
Society front.
Daniel Mensah
member of the facilitating team of the initiative dubbed ‘KA MA MI’ which is
partnered by the legal Aid Commission for remand prisoners aimed at
decongesting the prisons.

He has extensive knowledge and experience in:
